Tasked with creating a sustainable mixed housing community, this design prioritized walkability and passive solar as its guiding principles. Vehicle traffic is slowed in residential areas by turns and the frequency of cross walks- however, much of the interstitial space throughout the site is encouraged to be explored on foot by the abundance of sidewalks. All buildings are oriented southward to capitalize on solar warming in the winter while eaves reduce this influence in the winter.
