Established around 1920, Philadelphia's historic "Black Bottom" neighborhood was a vibrant predominantly black community that met a fate sadly all too often seen in U.S. history: erasure through "urban redevelopment." In this analysis, we discuss class inequality in Black Bottom's historical extent and surroundings and make recommendations for various development measures through modelling.
